It is included in a mixed-media group show that will be on view until May 28, 2011. The<br /><br /><div>28" x 28" quilt is made of cotton fabrics, some of which are hand-dyed by the artist. The shapes have been fused and machine-appliqued. There are also hand embroidery stitches and polymer clay beads included in this striking design. </div>Susan Leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364245385038513714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155158539524651631.post-67884712500635713702011-05-19T13:51:00.000-04:002011-05-19T13:55:36.201-04:00Relative Order<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdXVmiyA2bO68FLd6M4cdL7MjwLAlAut23HOUXAc57BeVaf3Ak2Gz7hKghp7tBq_6zZqv4M47vKSE6g1c_RKOp5rV2rIY2A9KCsMzieeopO8cgeOqZ9Umf99TsigLcd693pQynEDO5SA/s1600/RelativeOrder.S.Lee.jpg"><img style="TEXT-ALIGN: center; MARGIN: 0px auto 10px; WIDTH: 283px; DISPLAY: block; HEIGHT: 320px; CURSOR: hand" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5608486801803969938" border="0" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiLdXVmiyA2bO68FLd6M4cdL7MjwLAlAut23HOUXAc57BeVaf3Ak2Gz7hKghp7tBq_6zZqv4M47vKSE6g1c_RKOp5rV2rIY2A9KCsMzieeopO8cgeOqZ9Umf99TsigLcd693pQynEDO5SA/s320/RelativeOrder.S.Lee.jpg" /></a>This is the image I intended to show. My L.I.N.T. (Ladies in New Textiles) group will be featured in a gallery exhibition there from March 30 - April 30, 2011, with a public reception taking place on April 1 from 6 until 8 pm. The address is 86 North Main St. We are all looking forward to this upcoming show which will highlight our new textile creations.<br /> <br />Also, on another thread, Echo Gallery is now closed. We gave it a good run for 18 months, but the business was taking too much time away from our artistic endeavors, and we all needed our precious hours to make art! One section has a repeated paragraph that looks as though you can almost read it. I don't have many images of me at work, but at least this shows some of what I do. At the present time, I am involved with a new co-op gallery that consists of six other western NC artists. The gallery is located in Biltmore Park Town Square, and is called Echo Gallery. We have just over 2000 sq. ft., and are eager to get moved in and open for business. Our website is echoasheville.com if you'd like to visit.Susan Leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364245385038513714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155158539524651631.post-43330684253519656862008-05-27T14:21:00.001-04:002008-05-27T14:26:39.128-04:00Hello. It's beautiful weather here in western NC. I feel fortunate to be living in such a paradise. My quilt work is coming along well, and I've just recently finished a piece that I will soon ship to a couple in Philadelphia, PA. They came by to visit me on the recent Weaverville Art Safari, and found something that they wanted for their home. I am continuing to work on a quilt for the living room of the Ramble House, which is sponsored by HandMade in America to promote the talented craftspeople living in this area. The home will be open to the public for tour in October, 2008.Susan Leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364245385038513714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155158539524651631.post-32784425790917347992008-02-27T14:00:00.000-05:002008-02-27T14:06:06.954-05:00currently.....I'm working on a piece to be included in a show at Black Mountain which opens in May 2008. The other members of LINT (Ladies in New Textiles) will be featured in this exhibit also. Our show is entitled "Transparencies," and the interpretation of that idea is up to each individual member. I've started using tissue paper, netting, silk, and metallic threads in this new piece, but am not sure where it's really going. These materials are not my usual ones to work with, so I'm having some doubts as to whether or not this is the way I want to procede.Susan Leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364245385038513714noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-155158539524651631.post-38736676243264489302008-02-06T10:03:00.000-05:002008-12-08T21:08:42.188-05:00New Address<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrONPuMfY2cOqkqtp9NMvYG22yI6PO6qaXVXbj7dIZOJYFTO_d3ED1hGlValnTg8DAWmqXOWRHalhakBh23uJdklD-wl1xqw-8MGKtybrNujojXnQTqg_hV_XT4USc2YZesxRW5rWWs0k/s1600-h/Lee.Susan.HurricaneTown.jpg"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163885293616983602" style="CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhrONPuMfY2cOqkqtp9NMvYG22yI6PO6qaXVXbj7dIZOJYFTO_d3ED1hGlValnTg8DAWmqXOWRHalhakBh23uJdklD-wl1xqw-8MGKtybrNujojXnQTqg_hV_XT4USc2YZesxRW5rWWs0k/s320/Lee.Susan.HurricaneTown.jpg" border="0" /></a><br /><div>I've moved my studio from Asheville to my home in Barnardsville, NC. </div><br /><div></div><br /><div></div>Susan Leehttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10364245385038513714noreply@blogger.com0
